Terms of Service
Last updated: PLACEHOLDER — update on launch
⚠ This is a placeholder
Before launching to paying customers, replace this page with legally-reviewed terms of service. Recommended generators: termly.io or iubenda. Stripe also requires a working ToS URL on your business profile.
1. Service description
Quill is an AI-powered customer-service email assistant operated by [BUSINESS LEGAL NAME] ("we", "us"). Quill connects to your email inbox(es) to draft customer-service replies grounded in your inventory and knowledge base. You ("Customer") use the Service in exchange for the subscription fee for your chosen plan.
2. Account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Quill.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
3. Subscription + billing
- Quill is billed monthly via Stripe. Prices are listed at myquillai.com/#pricing.
- Each plan starts with a 7-day free trial. You may cancel during the trial without charge.
- Email volume quotas apply per the plan you choose. Drafts continue to be created when you exceed your quota, but auto-send is paused until you upgrade or your billing period resets.
- Cancellation policy: You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect immediately — your account is locked and you lose access the moment you cancel. No partial-period refunds are issued: you are responsible for the full invoice of the current billing period at the time of cancellation. Pre-paid time after the cancellation date is forfeited.
- If your card is declined, your account enters a 3-day grace period. After grace, access is locked until you update payment.
4. Acceptable use
You agree NOT to use Quill to:
- Send spam, phishing emails, or unsolicited bulk messages.
- Violate any law, including laws governing email marketing (CAN-SPAM Act, GDPR, CASL).
- Process the email of any person who has not consented to receive your replies.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract our AI prompts or system internals.
- Resell or sublicense the Service.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. Your data, your responsibility
- You retain ownership of your data (email content, inventory, knowledge base, customer information).
- You grant us a limited license to process your data for the sole purpose of operating the Service for you.
- You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload customer information to Quill.
- You must comply with applicable privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) regarding your customers' data.
6. AI-generated drafts
Quill drafts replies using AI. We strive for accuracy but cannot guarantee that every draft will be correct. You are responsible for reviewing drafts before they are sent. If you enable auto-send, you accept that drafts above your confidence threshold will be sent without human review. We recommend keeping a human in the loop for refunds, complaints, and any reply that involves a financial commitment.
7. Service availability
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, third-party outages (Gmail, Microsoft, xAI, our hosting provider), or your own connectivity issues may temporarily affect the Service.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
